WASHINGTON – House Budget Committee Ranking Member Paul Ryan (WI-01) issued the following statement in support of House Minority Whip Eric Cantor’s continued efforts to combat Washington’s pork-barrel spending:

“Earlier this year, House Republicans stood on principle with a self-imposed earmark moratorium to help combat Washington’s pervasive culture of spending.  I stand in strong support of Republican Whip Eric Cantor’s call for an extension and expansion of this moratorium.  House Republicans remain committed to rededicating Congress to the Founding ideas that make this nation so exceptional, applying these principles to the most pressing challenges of the day.  An end to the abuse of earmarks is another step in the right direction.”
