House Budget Committee Hearings Next Week on Health & Retirement Security Programs

The House Budget Committee will hold two hearings next week on Medicare and Social Security. On July 12, Department of Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius will testify on the Administration’s efforts to restrain Medicare’s growth, and address growing bipartisan concerns with the Independent Payment Advisory Board (IPAB). On July 13, Medicare’s Chief Actuary Richard Foster and Social Security’s Chief Actuary Stephen Goss will provide testimony on the sustainability of America’s health and retirement security programs.
