Dec 17, 2019
Legislation Follows Budget Caps Set by Yarmuth’s Legislation

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today House Budget Committee Chairman John Yarmuth (D-KY) gave the following statement after House passage of the Fiscal Year 2020 Appropriations Agreement:

“Today, the House came together to provide certainty, direction, and much-needed investments for our economy and the American people. The appropriations package provides funding at the levels established by the Bipartisan Budget Act of 2019, which set a two-year budget for the country, ended the threat of harsh austerity cuts, and set the stage for the strategic investments in education, election security, environmental protection, and health initiatives included in the appropriations bills passed today. As Chairman of the House Budget Committee and sponsor of the Bipartisan Budget Act of 2019, I am proud to support this appropriations package, and I look forward to seeing our communities and our country grow with these investments.”
