Chairman Yarmuth Statement on President Biden’s FY22 Discretionary Funding Request

Apr 9, 2021

WASHINGTON, D.C.Kentucky Representative John Yarmuth, Chair of the House Budget Committee, released the following statement on President Biden’s fiscal year 2022 discretionary funding request:

“President Biden’s discretionary funding request offers a blueprint for Congress to build on the successes of the American Rescue Plan and complement the goals of the American Jobs Plan. With austerity caps and an era of chronic disinvestment finally behind us, Congress can turn this proposal into a budget that will help generate a stronger, fairer economy, while truly meeting the needs of our communities. This commitment to making substantial and much-needed investments in key priorities, including K-12 education, public health, affordable housing, tackling the climate crisis, and more, will transform lives and build a far better future for American families.”
