Yarmuth Calls on Mulvaney to Apologize to CBO Employee Whose Reputation He Attacked

Washington, D.C.—Today Kentucky Congressman John Yarmuth, Ranking Member of the House Budget Committee, released the following statement responding to OMB Director Mick Mulvaney’s criticisms of the CBO and calling on him to apologize to the employee whose reputation he attacked:

“Director Mulvaney's comments impugning the integrity of a public servant who has dedicated her career to producing sound analysis for decision makers are unacceptable. He needs to apologize. The President's recent budget submission -- full of phony economic assumptions, double counts, and ill-defined policies -- shows exactly why the Congress and the American people it represents need the nonpartisan CBO.”
