Yarmuth Statement on GOP’s Dysfunctional 2018 Budget Process

Jun 28, 2017

Washington, D.C.— Today Kentucky Congressman John Yarmuth, Ranking Member of the House Budget Committee, issued the following statement on House Republicans’ continued dysfunction over the 2018 budget process:

“After weeks of on-again, off-again markups, House Republicans head into the July 4th recess mired in dysfunction over a budget proposal that is months past its deadline. Instead of working with Democrats on responsible ways to grow our economy and invest in American families, Republicans continue to argue among themselves about how much to cut from hard working families so they can give more tax cuts to the wealthy few. They continue to display no evidence that they are capable of governing or completing the most basic responsibilities of the job.”
