Ryan: Keep Up the Fight for Families

House Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan of Wisconsin issued the following statement on tonight’s vote:

“Families are having serious problems with the President’s health-care law. It hurts jobs. Many can’t sign up for coverage, and others are watching their premiums spike. So we will keep fighting for fairness for all Americans. And ultimately, we must dismantle the entire law.

“Despite this missed opportunity, I support today’s legislation. It reopens the government and averts default. It rejects Democrats’ demands to increase spending. It tamps down on fraud. And it sets a precedent for further changes to Obamacare.

“This vote also paves the way for serious budget negotiations, which are long overdue. In the months ahead, I hope both sides can work together to pay down the debt, provide relief for families, and grow the economy.”
