Washington, D.C. – House Budget Committee Chairman Diane Black issued the following statement after House-Senate conferees for tax reform announced an agreement on the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act.
“As a member of the tax reform conference committee, I am pleased that we achieved a real win for the American people. We promised the American people that we would reform our tax code and we are keeping that promise. I’ve been proud to work with President Trump, Vice President Pence and my colleagues to reach an agreement that reflects our shared conservative principles. Most importantly, this legislation will deliver much-needed tax relief for hardworking middle-class American families, simplify our outdated tax code and empower businesses to create jobs. I look forward to swift passage in both chambers and getting it to the president’s desk to be signed into law.”
