Chairman Black Praises Tax Reform Signed into Law

Washington, D.C. – House Budget Committee Chairman Diane Black issued the following statement after President Donald Trump signed into law H.R. 1, the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act. The bill sent to the president’s desk reflects an agreement negotiated by the House-Senate conference committee, finalized last week and passed in both chambers this week. Chairman Black served as one of the House conferees appointed by Speaker Paul Ryan.

“I am very proud of this historic, once-in-a-generation moment. While it has been a long time coming, I am pleased that we can finally provide much-needed tax relief to hardworking, middle class American families. With President Trump’s seal of approval on the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, the future is brighter for our country. Americans will soon see more money in their pockets, our tax code will be less confusing and job creators will be able to grow and thrive. It has been an honor to work with our leadership, my colleagues and the White House to deliver tax reform that will greatly benefit generations of Americans to come.”
