Budget Chairman Arrington: America First, Pro-Growth Policies Are Working
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, House Budget Chairman Jodey Arrington (R-Texas) released the following statement on the two U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA) reports published this morning. The BEA’s updated gross domestic product (GDP) report showed 4.4 percent annual growth in the third quarter of 2025 and the Personal Consumption Expenditures price index (PCE) report showed an annual increase of 2.7 percent in October and 2.8 percent in November 2025.
"Today’s promising economic reports are more proof President Trump’s and Republicans’ America First, pro-growth policies are working. GDP growing at its fastest pace in two years confirms the historic, pro-growth policies enacted in the One Big Beautiful Bill—permanent tax relief, energy deregulation, and reduced federal spending—are spurring private investment and putting more money back into the pockets of hardworking families. While Americans are still recovering from Biden’s self-inflicted affordability crisis, under President Trump, wages are up and outpacing inflation and Americans’ purchasing power has been supercharged.
"But we’re not done yet. The One Big Beautiful Bill (OBBB) was the first step in reversing Democrats’ fiscal failures and Making America Affordable Again. Now we must finish the job. Reconciliation 2.0 is the most consequential legislative tool available for us to finish what we started in OBBB, make health care affordable again, double down on eliminating waste, fraud, and abuse, and lock-in Trump’s trade wins.
"We must not shrink back in this historic moment. We must honor our commitment to the American people—who gave us unified Republican leadership—and do everything in our power to Make America Safer, Stronger, and More Prosperous."
