Exposing Biden’s “Deficit Reduction” Dishonesty

As President Biden continues to push a big spending agenda, he is also not being honest with the American people about his record on the deficit or the inflation crisis his deficits have fueled. The President is still pushing Congress to enact all or parts of his $5 trillion Build Back Broke agenda despite the fact that his previous $2 trillion spending spree contributed to the 11 percent rise in inflation that has occurred since the President took office. The President has made some dubious statements about his Administration’s record on deficit spending – even bragging about a decline in the annual deficit from 2020 to 2021. But when one looks at the facts – presented in the below graphic – President Biden’s record is a $2.78 trillion deficit in his first year in office, the 2nd highest in the history of America, and $517 billion higher than what the Congressional Budget Office projected for 2021 prior to passage of the $2 trillion American Rescue Plan. The expected decline in deficits from 2021 to 2022 is because the Biden Administration has so far failed to get their $5 trillion Build Back Broke agenda enacted. Meanwhile, the President’s recent budget proposal would run average annual deficits of $1.6 trillion. Click here or the image below to learn more:

As House Budget Committee Republican Leader Jason Smith (MO-08) explains in the video below, President Biden’s claims that he is all about cutting the deficit is “hogwash.” Smith goes on to note that “deficit spending is what is driving the inflation crisis. If Joe Biden wants to lower prices, he should quit throwing fuel on the inflation fire.” Click here or the image below to view the video.
