  • House Budget Committee to Hold Hearing Exploring Legislative Proposals for Fiscal Commission

    Today, Chairman Jodey Arrington (R-TX), Ranking Member Brendan Boyle (D-PA), and Members of the House Budget Committee will hold a hearing to examine several legislative proposals to create a bipartisan fiscal commission, including H.R. 710, H.R. 5779, and S.3262.

    Hearing Objectives:

    • Evaluate legislative proposals: Evaluate the components and implications of HR 5779, HR 710, and S. 3262, exploring how each legislative proposal addresses fiscal stability and reform. Assess the alignment of the bills with the broader goals of achieving a sustainable fiscal future and improving federal programs' solvency. 
    • Understand Sponsor Perspectives: Gain insights into the perspectives from the bill sponsors by reviewing their motivations, objectives, and key considerations in formulating their proposed legislation.
