Health Care Task Force Chair Burgess Applauds Stakeholder Input
House Budget Committee Health Care Task Force Chair Michael Burgess, M.D. applauds the input submitted by over 170 individuals and stakeholders to the Request for Information (RFI) that will help shape the panel’s work.
Health Care Task Force Chair Burgess released the following quote:
"I look forward to upcoming discussions, fueled by the invaluable suggestions we've gathered through the RFI process. From big stakeholder groups and renowned academic medical centers to small, independent physician practices in the heart of Texas, we are unified by a common goal – to reduce physician burden, safeguard the doctor-patient relationship, and ensure every American has unfettered access to quality and affordable health care. The Task Force will champion preventive health, recognizing that there is always a cost to delaying patient care, and together, we will navigate toward a healthier future for all Americans.”
Background: In August, House Budget Committee Chairman Arrington established the Health Care Task Force, led by Chair Burgess to broadly examine solutions to improve patient outcomes and reduce health care spending. To help inform the panel’s work, the Health Care Task Force released an RFI to solicit feedback from independent experts and stakeholders on solutions to improve outcomes and reduce federal health care spending in the budget.
While RFI responses were requested by October 15, 2023, additional input may still be submitted to hbcr.health@mail.house.gov.
